Community Grants Scheme now open

Last Modified May 17, 2024

Voluntary organisations and community groups that celebrate our diverse communities and promote inclusion across the borough could qualify for a funding boost of up to £2,500.

To reflect the aspirations set out in our updated Vision, and the success of the scheme in 2023/24, the 2024/25 community grants programme is encouraging applications from groups and organisations that celebrate Hertsmere’s diverse community and support inclusion as well as those involving creativity in its widest sense.

The funding may cover revenue or capital costs as a ‘one-off’ grant for equipment, a specific project, event or programme of events.

Cllr Christian Gray, Portfolio Holder for Communities, Neighbourhoods, Enforcement, Economic Development and Transformation, said: "It is vital that we give all the support we can to our incredible community and voluntary groups that work so hard for the benefit of the borough.

“If you are working to celebrate our heritage and identities, championing social justice or supporting inclusive communities, we want to hear from you.”

Examples of organisations supported last year through the Community Grant Scheme are Borehamwood Foodbank, Herts Inclusive Theatre and Strive with different projects all aimed at supporting the local community.

The scheme is now open to applications with a closing date of 5pm on 28 June 2024.
