The deadline to register to vote for the upcoming election is Friday 11th April 2025. If you register after this date, you will not be able to vote in this election but you will be registered for future elections.

To vote by post in this election, you must complete a postal vote application before the deadline at 5pm on 14th April 2025. You can do so by completing the online government form.

You will need your national insurance number and a picture of your signature, on a plain white piece of paper.

 

Any application that is approved before 18th March, will be included in the first postal vote despatch date from 11th April. Any application approved between 18th March and 14th April, will be included in the second despatch date from 22 April.

Postal Vote Ballots and Personal Statements must be completed and returned by 10pm on Thursday 1st May.

Any electors wishing to hand in their postal votes to the polling station or the Civic Office, must also complete a postal vote handling form with an authorised Officer. You will only be able to hand in your own postal vote and the postal votes of up to five other people. Political campaigners can only hand in their own postal vote, and postal votes for up to five other people that are either close relatives, or someone they provide regular care for.

We can only issue a replacement before 5pm on election day. 

Prior to the election, you will be sent a poll card which contains the address of your polling station. Please make sure you check the address as your polling station may have changed.

All polling stations in use will be published on the Election Notices page from 3rd April.
