There's been a change to our Cabinet with Cllr Renos Georgiou taking over responsibility for Resources, ICT and Digital Transformation..
The appointment, made by the Leader of the Council, Cllr Jeremy Newmark sees Cllr Georgiou overseeing strategic issues which include the development of key HR policies and ensuring opportunities to improve service delivery through AI and other digital innovations are seized.
Cllr Georgiou takes over the role from Cllr Rebecca Challice who stood down from the role at the last full council meeting (Wednesday, 26 March).
Cllr Georgiou commented: "I am delighted to take on this portfolio which encompasses exciting strands of work which are crucial to the council's service delivery. Both our workforce and the latest developments in technology, including AI, are critical in helping us respond to the needs of our many communities as efficiently and effectively as possible."
Cllr Newmark added: "I would like to extend my thanks to Cllr Challice for all her diligence and hard work in this role and warmly welcome Cllr Georgiou to the Cabinet and know he will make a significant contribution to this crucial portfolio of work."
