Community Toilet Scheme

Local businesses are paid a small annual fee, between £600 and £1,000 to allow people to use their toilets during their normal opening hours. This fee is dependent on the facilities offered by the business. All community toilets are regularly inspected by our officers to ensure they meet appropriate standards. 

Participating premises will display one of the following stickers in their window to indicate the facilities offered:

 

Borehamwood:

• 96 Shenley Road
• Hertsmere Borough Council, Civic Offices, Elstree Way
• The Hart & Spool Pub, Shenley Road
• Community Shop, Leeming Road
• The Wellington, Theobald Street

 

Bushey:

• The Red Lion, High Street

 

Bushey Heath:

• The Three Crowns Pub, High Road

 

Potters Bar:

• The Wyllyotts Centre, Darkes Lane
• Admiral Byng, Darkes Lane

 

Radlett:

• The Radlett Centre, Aldenham Avenue

 

 

The Community Toilet Scheme provides an alternative to public and automated loos, which are costly to maintain and manage. The majority of automated public conveniences have closed but toilets in some of our parks remain.

There are public toilets in the following locations:

• On the edge of Oakmere Park,High Street, Potters Bar
• King George Park, Bushey
• Bushey Rose Garden, High Street, Bushey
