On Thursday 23 May 2019 European Union Parliamentary elections were held for the area of Hertsmere as part of the Eastern Region. This was for the election of seven Members to the Parliament of the European Union on behalf of the region. This was done using the party list system.
The count took place at Allum Hall in Borehamwood on Sunday 26 May and was attended by nominees from the political parties.
Voter turnout was 36.39 per cent.
The results have now been posted.
Where do I vote?
For the local elections on the 2 May 2019 new ward boundaries were put in place and the same polling stations will be used for the European elections. You should have received a Polling Card which told you where to vote.

The polling stations were open from 7am to 10pm on the day of the election.

- Postal vote applications and changes deadline is 5pm on Wednesday 8 May 2019.
- Proxy vote applications and deadline is 5pm on Wednesday 15 May 2019.
Please ensure that where possible you make any requests well in advance. There are limited situations where you may be eligible to apply for a late proxy after the deadline, please contact the Elections team for more information.
What if I want to be a candidate?
Nominations for the Thursday 23 May 2019 elections were open from 10am on Tuesday 16 April 2019 until 4pm on Thursday 25 April 2019.
