On Thursday 4 May 2023, all-out local elections are taking place in Hertsmere. These elections are for all 39 of the borough seats.
Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council, Aldenham, Shenley, South Mimms and Ridge Parish council elections will also be taking place.
Elections Act 2022 and Voter ID
The UK Government has introduced a requirement for voters to show photo ID when voting at a polling station at some elections. This new requirement will apply for the first time in England at the local elections on Thursday 4 May 2023.

The Elections Act 2022 has been passed into law and will see further changes to the UK electoral system. Further information about the Act and the changes can be found on the Electoral Commission website.
