2019 General Election

On Thursday 12 December 2019 a parliamentary election was held. This was for the election of a Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons for the Hertsmere Constituency. This was done using the "First Past The Post" system. 

The count took place at Allum Hall in Borehamwood on the night of the 12 December 2019 and was attended by nominees from the political parties.

The result for Hertsmere Constituency was:

Where do I vote?

You should receive a Polling Card which will tell you where to vote. You do not need it to vote.

The polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on the day of the election.

  • Postal vote applications and changes deadline was 5pm on Tuesday 26 November 2019. (The deadline has now passed.)
  • Proxy vote applications and deadline is 5pm on Wednesday 4 December 2019. (The deadline has now passed.)

Please ensure that where possible you make any requests well in advance. There are limited situations where you may be eligible to apply for a late proxy after the deadline, please contact the Elections team for more information or check: https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/voting-person-post-or-proxy/voting-proxy.

The deadline for registering to vote in the 2019 General Election is 11.59pm on Tuesday 26 November 2019 has now passed.  You can still register for future elections.
