Supplementary Planning Documents and other publications

Weekly lists of planning applications, appeals and decisions are available through the Planning section of the website.

Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs)

These documents explain in greater detail how policies will be used to control development and are a material consideration in the determination of planning applications.

SPDs are prepared under the Local Development Framework system and elaborate on policies in the Core Strategy.

Supplementary Planning Guidance was the precursor to SPDs. These documents explain in greater detail how policies will be used to control development and are a material consideration in the determination of planning applications. SPGs were prepared under the old Local Plan system and relate to policies in the Hertsmere Local Plan. They are now being replaced by SPDs, but remain in effect until they are replaced, or the policies they relate to are no longer used.
